RCM Engineering’ Buffalo, NY office is assisting a North American industrial gas supplier with a multi-phased electrical infrastructure upgrade for an aging facility.
The project consists of installation of a new ring bus, 13 kV switchgear, and a pre-fabricated building. Also included in the scope are electrical connections from the pre-fabricated building to four other switchgear to provide electrical back up. The first phase of this project is a 3,500 man-hour segment with an expected duration of one year, including civil, structural and electrical scopes of work.
Civil/Structural tasks include AutoCAD Plant 3D modeling and drawings for foundations and structural steel, cable tray and structural steel supports, as well as site work drawings for temporary construction facilities. Electrical tasks include one lines, grounding, electrical equipment specifications, and extensive cable tray design. For the project, site laser scanning data was compiled and utilized to provide design background information.
